OUR WORK
We collect, analyse, verify and store evidence related to human rights incidents in Myanmar. We do this in order to increase accountability by publishing our own reports, partnering with traditional media outlets, and by storing the digital evidence in a way that is compatible with future human rights prosecutions.
How it works
EVIDENCE IS UPLOADED
Digital evidence is uploaded by members of the public and gathered by our researchers who log it, hash it and store it securely in a way that is trusted by justice and accountability bodies. FAQs: Uploading Evidence
WE ENCOURAGE RESPONSIBLE REPORTING
We publish reports on social media and share our research with trusted media partners to help bring wider international attention to the current human rights situation in Myanmar.
Myanmar Witness has supported reporting that has appeared in local and international media including NHK, BBC News, and the Washington Post.
