On 30 December 2022, the villages of To village, Tan Shin village and Thin Gan Taw village in Palaw township experienced fires and over 60 houses were reportedly set alight by the Myanmar military. Information gathered by Myanmar Witness suggests that Myanmar military are likely to be responsible for the fires.
