Monastery destroyed in Namtu

20-year-old school teacher was allegedly killed after a Myanmar military airstrike hit a monastery in Man Li village, Namtu on 29 December 2023.
Myanmar Witness has geolocated footage showing extensive structural damage to Man Li monastery and nearby buildings.
The targeting of monasteries is in contravention of international law, which places special protections on places of worship during armed conflict.
